Entering your car into a concours car competition, is often a gruelling process. It starts way before you drive into the show ground. You need to make sure that your car is concours or as close to concours as possible.
Often points are scored, and the closer to concours condition your car is, the more points it will score. If you score points than other competitors in the same category, you and your car will win first price.
Put In The Effort Before You Go
The best thing you can do, is to make sure you put in the effort before you gp. Find the original specifications for your car, and try to make sure that your car is as close to the specifications as possible. In other words, if your car did not have a radio with USB port when it rolled out of the factory, it should not have one now.
You also need to make sure that your car is polished and clean. That includes cleaning the engine bay and the boot. To pass the critical eye of the judges, it needs to be spotless.
Taking part in concours competitions is fun. However, if you don’t win, take it on the chin. Make a note of the points the judges made on the score sheet and go home and see what you can do. You can win fantastic prices and you met other classic car enthusiasts.
